Get More Instagram Traffic by Using this Trick to Add 60 Hashtags Instead of 30

May 16, 2017 by Brandon Mikel Paul

Using hashtags on your Instagram posts is a very simple and effective way to get more attention for you content, which gets more people looking at your profile, which brings you more followers!

Adding hashtags to your posts is great because:

  1. It takes very little effort.
  2. You get a big return from a small time investment.
  3. They are an easy way to connect with your target audience, or in other words, they help people in your niche find you.

Most people use ~30 hashtags when adding to market their content. I’ll show you how to add 60 hashtags to each post, set yourself up to make the biggest impact with your posts.

Once you’ve got everything set up, it only takes an extra 60 seconds to do this each time you post to instagram.

How to add 60 hashtags to your posts on Instagram:

  1. Prepare your Post — edit your photo, write the caption, tag people… do everything you normally would when getting ready to post to Instagram
  2. Copy 30 Hashtags to Your Clipboard — Set up a list of 30 hashtags you want to use, and keep it saved in a note-taking app on your phone.
  3. Hit “Post” and share the post your prepared ahead of time (don’t use any hashtags in your caption).
  4. Comment and Paste First 30 Hashtags in your your comment.
  5. Copy 30 More Hashtags to Your Clipboard — Have a second list with 30 more hashtags that you can quickly copy
  6. Edit Post (the 3 dots at the top right of your post)
  7. Paste 30 Hashtags in Caption for a total of 60!

A few tips for doing this properly

(without making it look like you are just begging for attention)

  • Do hashtag research ahead of time — make sure that each of your 60 hashtags is relevant to your content and your niche, and check the metrics for each hashtag to make sure you aren’t posting in an overcrowded space
  • Organize influencer hashtags so they are all in the same list. Getting featured on influencer accounts should be a priority, so make sure you prioritize using influencer hashtags in your posts
  • Make your post look appealing — lets face it, having a big cloud of hashtags in your caption isn’t the prettiest looking. I like to add a few lines of space in-between the copy of my caption and the big cloud of hashtags (Instagram doesn’t allow you to have empty lines of space between paragraphs, but you can get around this by separating bodies of text by having lines with just a single period on them)
  • Your Goal is to be one of the 9 TOP POSTS for the hashtags that you use. This will put you right in front of everyone that looks at that hashtag. Getting featured in the TOP POSTS is determined by how many people engage with your content, and how much attention your content is getting immediately after posting it.
  • Make Sure you ACTUALLY ADD VALUE with the content you post

I hope this helps you improve your Instagram game! Give it a try, use 60 hashtags on your next Instagram post, and see if it helps you get more traffic. Leave a comment and tell us how it goes!

Stay Creative, and live with Passion!

All the best,
